Textile Waste... Know The Facts

Did You Know...?

17-20% of industrial water pollution is due to textile dyeing and treatment

Up to 72 chemicals found in polluted water come directly from the textile dyeing process. Thirty of these cannot be removed or completely extracted

In the nearly $1 trillion clothing industry, waste abounds from the estimated 15-20% of fabric trashed on the cutting room floor, unsustainable material sourcing, massive carbon emissions when transporting products from manufacturing centers, gallons upon gallons of wasted and polluted water during washing and dyeing, as well as wildly excessive packaging, tagging, and storage.

American purchases an average of only 10 pounds of recycled clothing per year.
